The Adventures of Chief Mischief Maker Noah
(By Aunt Stephie and Family)
The following questions were posed to Noah’s Aunt Stephanie, my sister, and she and Noah’s cousins took the time to come up with their responses. They know him well, which means the stories are both accurate and hilarious.
Funniest “Noah moment” you ever witnessed?
There have been so many, but the most recent was during a family trip to Ocean City. After dinner, most of the cousins went to the porch to eat, but Noah slipped off to his room with his plate. Curious, I followed him. Low and behold, he had opened snack bags stashed in his book bag and was shoving chips into his mouth as fast as he could.
I called out, “Noah!” He froze with big eyes and a mouth full of chips, stuffed them back in his bag, muttered “Sorry,” and joined everyone outside.
But the story did not end there. After dinner, I noticed him sneaking off again. This time, he was tucking something into his pencil pouch. When I checked, I found him stuffing handfuls of money into it. Inside were two wads of cash. A little thief! (Not like he knows what to do with money anyway.) The loot was returned to his rightful parents, hidden away for safekeeping from our sticky-fingered Chief Mischief Maker.
If Noah had a job title based on how you know him, what would it be?
Chief Mischief Maker. No contest.
What is something Noah did that made you stop and think, “Well, I did not see that coming”?
Over Thanksgiving, we went swimming at the rec center. While checking in, we suddenly heard giggling behind us. We turned around to find Noah stripping down naked in the lobby. Thankfully, his cousins surrounded him like a human shield, but patience was not his strong suit. Noah needed to change into his swim trunks before he could get into the pool, and he had no interest in waiting for the adults to finish registering everyone first.
If you had to give survival tips to the next teacher, helper, or sitter, what wisdom would you share?
Do not let him out of your sight. Ever. Also, bring snacks. Snacks are bribes, and bribes are survival.
What memory of Noah always makes you smile (or shake your head)?
Watching Noah at the beach. He absolutely loves the waves and has a strange fascination with burying himself in sand—on top, under, and all around. Bonus points if he can get sand on everyone else too.
