The Case of the Missing Dog Food Container
Sometimes we ask our kids a question and get ignored. Sometimes we get a blank stare. Sometimes they blame the dog. Noah prefers a different strategy. He blames Mom.
Today I found the lid to Ozzy's dog food container in the garage. The problem was that the rest of the container was missing.
I asked Shane if he had seen it. He looked at me and immediately said, "I bet Noah took it."
Naturally, I asked the obvious question: "Why would Noah take the bottom of Ozzy's dog food container?"
Shane's response was simple. "To dig in the dirt."
Sure enough, a quick trip to the backyard solved the mystery. There was the missing container, covered in dirt and looking like it had just completed a landscaping project.
Case closed.
Or so I thought.
When Shane questioned Noah about the missing container, Noah quickly identified the culprit.
Me.
Not the boy who enjoys digging holes in the backyard.
Not the boy with dirt related evidence all over the crime scene.
Me.
The attached video contains Noah's official statement. As you can see, he remains committed to his defense.
I may never recover from being framed for dog food container theft.
