The Bull and His Matador

Noah is stubborn, more so than any other child I know. This stubbornness, however, can become aggression very quickly. Noah has a hard time controlling his emotions, and when he doesn’t get his way, rage is his backup plan.

A few days ago, our mom asked Noah not to take his markers downstairs, since he enjoys decorating walls that were never meant to be decorated. Noah ignored her and would not listen, but at least he was calm…until mom took the box of markers Noah had left sitting on the floor while he opened the basement door. I am not even exaggerating when I say that mom was running for her life down the hall to the garage door, with an enraged Noah hot on her heels. She became a matador while an enraged Noah charged after her.

When angry, Noah can also be dangerous due to his immense strength, which is a scary thing especially since we don’t want to hurt him or ourselves trying to calm him down. Luckily for mom, Noah’s anger was not at full power, and he just demanded the markers back.

Noah is loved dearly, but he is strength makes him a challenge and and he doesn’t submit to anyone’s requests easily. He is also unpredictable, in which he plays calmly one minute, and the next, the digital photo frame is broken, and the floor is covered in Styrofoam.

Anyone else have a child, sibling, or friend who is sometimes hard to handle?
